Anneke is a native to Austin, Texas. Compelled to photograph elements in her life which she feels most connected to; healthcare, social projects and the culture of a 23 year old in the booming city of Austin, she seeks to uncover truth - even when it hurts. Anneke is a contributing photographer to National Geographic Books, National Geographic Travel, and The New York Times, as well as Burn Magazine, among others. She works as both a freelance photographer, often on assignment for the Texas Tribune as well as for hire for portrait sessions. She works as a horseback riding instructor in Bee Cave, Texas, teaching youth horsemanship skills. Anneke has volunteered in Mexico, Guatemala and El Salvador with surgical teams such as Austin Smiles Foundation and Dell Children's Surgical Global Outreach to document the plight and hope of families with birth defects seeking surgical treatment.
